| Summary: | LawAfrica is the only legal publishing company in East Africa. Based in Nairobi, we have regional offices in Kampala and Dar es Salaam. Our aim is to make available materials of any court rulings to professionals and other interested parties in the form that best suits them. We are currently publishing the East Africa Law Reports, LawAfrica Law Reports, East Africa Court of Appeal Reports, Laws of Kenya and Hot from the Bench. Since inception in 1999, the demand for our products continues to grow. | ||||||
| Description: | You will be responsible for developing and implementing the publishing strategy for Lawafrica based on the company’s overall strategic goals. Your key deliverable will be the growth of the division through the development of relevant quality brands to international standards, acquisition of publishing and or distribution rights of relevant products, safeguarding intellectual property rights, the management and timely delivery of projects and the effective management of the publishing chain players – both digital and print. Defining and implementing technical and quality standards, developing publishing models, systems and processes, etc is another key deliverable. Staff management and departmental resourcing including equipment/technology are a key responsibility. |

| Requirements: | You will be a Law degree, three years editorial experience in legal publishing and expert knowledge of the field of law. In addition, you will have: · Prior experience managing a publishing team and publishing finance · Track record of innovation including new product development · Sound communication and networking skills as well as experience of working with subscribers, authors, editors and board members Knowledge of electronic document management systems and publishing tools |
