Description:
  • Help the GBV Program Coordinator ensure that GBV Leadership
  • Project indicators are met, including financial targets.
  • Liaise and work regularly with ARC partner organizations or groups to establish strong relationships.
  • Help establish agreements with partners for sub-grants, where and when deemed necessary, to ensure overall compliance with particular reference to the ARC sub-grants manual.
  • Establish clear criteria and procedures for partner selection and lead this process in situations where partners have not already been determined.
  • Organize and conduct assessments for partner CBOs and at periodic intervals, including the end of the year, to measure organizational and technical growth.
  • Collaboratively identify capacity-building needs of partners, including both organizational and technical gaps.
  • Assist partners in creating a capacity building action plan/work plan that will focus on developing the technical capacity of the partners according to international guidelines and standards.
  • Guide and monitor implementation of capacity-building plans to determine whether targets have been met according to the work plan.
  • Organize necessary trainings and workshops, including leadership and management training, to address technical and organizational capacity-building needs.
  • Regularly report to the GBV Coordinator on all activities, progress and achievements, to document challenges and lessons learned.
  • Assist with any other duties, as deemed necessary.
Requirements:
  • A University Degree in social sciences, public health or other relevant field.
  • Knowledge of GBV, gender, or public health with a previous experience in GBV prevention and response programming; knowledge of the guiding principles and IASC Guidelines on GBV
  • Interventions in Humanitarian Settings.
  • At least 3 years experience in managing and implementing projects in difficult environments; prior experience managing a local organization with significant supervisory experience a bonus.
  • Extensive experience in technical and organizational capacity-building activities, especially conducting trainings; in-depth knowledge of program design, including assessments, proposal writing, and program implementation.
  • Prior experience working at the community level, with thorough understanding of how to communicate clearly at the community level, especially concerning GBV.
  • Strong leadership and management skills; ability to work individually and within a team.
  • Ability to write clear, detailed, and concise reports on computer and consistently able to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel throughout communities and work in a participatory manner with a variety of populations.
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English and Luo and strong knowledge of the local population.
